Zara Aleena's family said she usually kept a pair of flat shoes in her bag. She would take off her heels and change into them at the end of the night so she could walk back to her London home more comfortably.

Walking home in her comfortable shoes is all 35-year-old Zara was doing at a little past 2 a.m. on June 26 when she was met with a violent attack that ended in her death. Members of the public found her lying on the ground, barely 10 minutes away from her home.

Emergency services received a call at 2:45 a.m. that morning after Zara was found in the driveway of a home on Cranbrook Road. She had multiple head injuries and was bleeding badly. Zara lay there, partially naked, struggling to breathe. Moments later, she was dead.

An autopsy revealed that Zara had suffered multiple catastrophic injuries. According to authorities involved in the case, Zara was dragged onto the driveway and forced down to the ground. There, her killer kicked and stomped on her repeatedly. The assault was so violent that paramedics could not do anything to save her when they arrived.

Zara had been working as an administrative assistant for the Royal Courts of Justice while preparing to become an attorney…
