Gerraro Sanchez’s murderer just wanted to take a life
Five-year-old boys can be a handful, but it’s uncommon for one to attempt suicide — especially on his own birthday. That was the first sign that young Jerrod Murray might be having some issues far beyond those of a normal boy. However, the knot he tied failed, and he ended up unconscious on the ground, where he was found by his brother. It was just the start of what would be a long list of odd behavior that ended in the murder of 18-year-old Gerraro Sanchez.
Murray was widely known in the small community of Asher, where he grew up, as a bit of an eccentric personality. He usually wore black suits to school because he likes to feel the “weight” of them. Needless to say, he didn’t fit in with other boys his age. Though there were no records of anything violent or psychotic in his earlier years, he was widely viewed as socially awkward. He was seen as the “weirdo” among those who existed in his circles.
Despite being a relatively bright child, he lacked motivation and his schoolwork suffered. He eventually quit school and got his GED to attend college. That was when things seemed to change.
