Sheriff Determined to Bring the Killer of Brittany McGlone to Justice

In 2007, 19-year-old Brittany McGlone was murdered in her on-again-off-again boyfriend’s bed in his Winnsboro, Texas, family home. She had been raped and bludgeoned to death.

At the time of her murder, Brittany had been working two jobs to save money for nursing school at Baylor University. After finishing her overnight shift at Lowe’s Distribution Center in Mount Vernon on the morning of May 4, 2007, she drove to the home of her boyfriend, Jeff Stogner, to get a bit of sleep after an overnight shift. Stogner, who lived in the house with his family, told authorities that he and his family had left home shortly after her arrival to give a relative a ride to the airport and were gone for several hours.

Brittany’s mother, Patricia Tice, said she had been calling Brittany all morning and had not gotten an answer. At around 2:30 or a little later that afternoon, she called Stogner, who told her the family was pulling into the driveway and that Brittany’s car was still there.
